ICHIBAMOKKO
A bento-shaped wooden toy made from wood from the Hiroshima forest.
We are a women-only company, which is rare for a carpentry shop, and each one is made by hand with all our heart. Only part of the toy uses domestically produced paint that has passed the Food Sanitation Act, and it is a toy packed with the texture, fragrance, and gentleness of wood, and is popular as a birthday gift or as an interior decoration.
In order to convey not only the culture of wood, but also the Japanese bento culture, we packed it in a rubber band with a mizuhiki design and a traditional bento box, Wappa.
It contains rice balls (cypress), plum rice balls (cypress), hamburgers (hoonoki), 2 eggs (cypress), cherry tomatoes (cypress), and lettuce (felt). Since we use cypress and cedar canna ribbons as cushioning materials, they can also be packed in sachet bags and used as drying materials.
In order to reduce the burden on the environment, we use naturally dried wood instead of artificially dried wood as much as possible.
These bento-shaped wooden toys are made of wood from the forests of Hiroshima.
The company is made by hand, one by one, with care and attention, by an all-woman company, which is rare for a woodworking factory. Using only some domestic paints that have passed the Food Sanitation Law, these toys are packed with the Texture, aroma, and gentleness of wood, and are popular as birthday gifts and interior decorations.
To convey not only the culture of wood, but also the Japanese lunch box culture, we packed them in a traditional bento box, wappa, with a rubber band with a mizuhiki design and a traditional bento box.
It contains an onigiri (Japanese cypress), a plum rice ball (Japanese cypress), a hamburger steak (Magnolia), two tamagoyaki (Japanese cypress), a mini tomato (Japanese cypress), and lettuce (felt). and cedar canna ribbons as cushioning material, which can also be used as drying material when packed in the sachet bags.
In order to reduce environmental impact, we use wood that has been artificially dried as little as possible and dried naturally.
Ichiba Mokkojo is a 55-year-old carpentry shop in the countryside of Hiroshima, run by only women.
Since product development in 2013, all products have been designed as low environmental impact and sustainable based on the concept of life cycle assessment.
We have prepared a maintenance program after purchase and a cycle in which toys are collected without being discarded even after they are no longer needed, and are reborn as new toys.
We want people of all ages to feel the difference in color, weight, and scent of each tree species, using the five senses of the original wood, so we mainly use naturally dried wood and unpainted wood as much as possible. Even when painting, we use domestic natural paints that have cleared the Food Sanitation Law.
We place importance on the traceability of the wood we use, and at the same time we are making use of unused satoyama wood, researching drying methods, and making sustainable products by making use of the knowledge of our representative engineer (forest).
